We will respond to you to set up an initial meeting to fill out the required paperwork and sign your Scout up. A meeting is typically required, rather than an online form, because we like to meet our potential Scouts and show them a few things about Cub Scouts. These things, such as reviewing the Scout Law and Scout Oath and learning the Scout salute and handshake, will help your future Scout earn their very first patch - the Bobcat Patch.
Come join us for our monthly Pack meeting and have some fun!

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Cub Scouts starts that preparation by allowing young boys and girls to start with where they are right now and grow towards the person they want to be. Cub Scouts uses the methods of living the ideals, belonging to a den, advancement, family involvement, activities, and serving the neighborhood to start children on that path. In Pack 163, we believe that service to each other, our community, and ourselves will enable us to help make our world a better place.
Each boy or girl who joins Cub Scouts is placed in a Den based on their grade in school (Kindergarten - 5th grade) and given the opportunity to earn advancement and awards through Cub Scouts by completing different tasks. Most of these tasks are done as a Pack or Den, though some are completed at home with their family. These tasks are usually active, require teamwork and sharing, and help the Scouts learn and practice a valuable skill or ability.
Family involvement is a huge part of Cub Scouting and of Pack 163 - we don't just want to get to know our Scouts, we want to get to know their parents/guardians and siblings as well. Family members are welcome at any and all Pack events, including Pack meetings, Den meetings, Mid-Iowa Council events, and recruitment events. As long as family members do their very best to adhere to the Scout Oath (see bottom of home page) and Scout Law (see right) just like their Scouts, we welcome as many as want to be here!
We think there are a lot of great reasons why your family should get involved with Scouting, but don't just take our word for it - our Scouts and their parents feel the same way.
